Cenizacromada - San Agustín (Astronauta de piedra) (2011)
The San Agustín culture is an archaeological culture of Colombia, in which several hundreds of monolithic sculptures have been found, which indicate that there flourished a culture from remote times, which today is the object of study by scientific missions for establish the origins and peculiar features of this town. This culture began from the XXXIII century a. C., in the VII century a. C. is already a culture that presents a considerable development, according to the carbon 14 dates of organic samples obtained recently associated with agriculture, ceramics, goldsmithing and sculptural art.
The marked differences between objects, clothing, clothing and lithic work, observed in the sculptures, makes us suppose that thenecropolis of San Agustín was a region where several South American ethnic groups, from distant places, brought their main dead to be buried; of which they form part Parque Arqueológico Nacional de Tierradentro and the san agustín archaeological park.
