The Operating Tracks started in the fall of 2014 and got its energy from the era when machines seriously made their debut into music, when DAF and The Normal were revolutionary and when we, for the first time, heard about Orwell's future theme.
The Operating Tracks is an attempt to put sound to mental images representing devoid and severe environments for humanity. It can be a city, where war has passed through. It can be an institution from the 1950s where screams push through a desolate corridor and through closed doors.
Intersecting these images through hardware synthesizers, music originated.
Where minimalistic texts, monotonous music and unpredictable machines meet, a feeling grows that is hard to shake off.
Music arises in the moment and can begin a bassline or a drum beat. It builds up a mood. The music is played live in the studio.
"It's the sound itself that creates images and we must add more sound to enter deeply into the image. It's like coloring."
