Although Hypocrisy didn't officially form until October 1991, it began as a solo project of Peter Tägtgren under the name Seditious.
During the late '80s/early '90s, Peter lived in the US and became heavily influenced by the American death metal scene. He then moved back to Sweden and with a new perspective on death metal.
Hypocrisy's first logo, which was Masse Broberg's idea, was made by Peter Almlöf.
