Recorded in Tuscany in 2020
Massimo Magrini has been active for many years in the underground electronic music with several projects, of which the best known is Bad Sector. With this project he has released many albums on CDs, vinyls, cassettes etc.
Riccardo Bianchi is an eclectic artist who has always ranged in different fields of expression including painting, sculpture, poetry and song. He is currently active as a singer in several Tuscan bands, including Unit Suono di Base, Idiotoma etc.
In 2020 the two artists from Lucca decided together to re-boot DERMA, their joint project from 1995 that abrasively combined voice and electronics. If the first demotape on cassette, 1995, was an acid collection of minimal analog loops combined with vocal inserts of various kinds, with "signore e signori, buonanotte" the duo created a sort of minimal synthwave sung in Italian, combining sound references of the 70s and 80s (transposed by Massimo in 2020) with the intricate lyrics of Riccardo.
The record was released on August 23, 2021, on 33 rpm + digital, by the Swiss label Luce Sia, in an elegant white vinyl edition with gatefold cover in special paper (including an english translation sheet).

notes Liner Notes [CD1] – Maurizio Bianchi Issued in a Digipak.
Liner notes (translated): "Towards the end of 1982, I was experiencing a moment of creative stagnation, and in order not to run the risk of repeating myself with sterile modular secretions, I came up with an arterial idea: to filter my old recordings through the aid of a mucous AIWA echo machine, and so I set about processing the sounds, transforming them into something completely new, so I coined the term 'bionic music', composed of concrete sounds recycled with electronic sprays... And as a predominant theme I used medical syncretism to ascertain the synthesis of the physiological with the unnatural. Thus was born the experimental cavity of 'ENDOMETRY'."
First self-produced release on LP by MB in 1982. OEC 2016 re-release.
Ri-edizione OEC 2016.

During 2021 I recovered several recordings dating back to the period 1995-2001. Some of them are part of the Xela recording sessions. I, therefore, decided to remix and extend them with more contemporary sounds, to create a sort of temporal bridge between those years and 2021-2022. The result, Yela, can be considered Xela’s companion. Massimo Magrini
The CD was issued in a 6-panel foldout Digifile. Limited edition of 123 hand-numbered copies (on backside of the Digifile). The CD version contains no track titles, the digital version on Bandcamp states track titles as "01, 02, ... 11, 12"
In the two years 2018-2019, I carried out special recording sessions in the cities of Lucca and Pisa, strolling through the streets with equipment capable of capturing the surrounding electromagnetic perturbations (ELF, VLF), due to the massive presence of electrical and electronic devices, in which we are constantly and unconsciously immersed. Listening to these sounds live was a very interesting experience, the system used was able to reveal an otherwise invisible (indeed, inaudible) urban sound environment. The increased, artificial sensory capacity was able to provide different connotations and new levels of reading to the surrounding space.
During 2020-2021, when the memory of the experience had already been defined and reshaped, I decided to reassemble and rearrange these sounds in more defined soundscapes, avoiding the temptation to introduce artificial elements extraneous to the basic concept, like rhythms and melodic inserts. These definitive tracks are now collected in this work.
First time Transponder was released as CD-r on Blade Records in 99, now the album is again accessible, in a new format and with additional, exclusive compositions of that period - "Yst" and "Waal"!
Track 1 from "Slam Bam Thank You Ma'am" comp. cass (Apathia, 1995). Tracks 2, 4, 5, 9 from "Ze" cass (Slaughter, 1994). Tracks 3, 7 from "Prayer Of Mankind" comp. 2xcass (SSSM, 1997). Track 8 from "Pressurized Music" cass (Freedom From, 1998). Tracks 6, 10 previous unreleased (March 1999). Tracks 11 & 12 are bonus tracks, recorded in 1998, reshaped and remixed in 2010.
