Café Grössenwahn Grammophon

"Café Grössenwahn" – "Café Megalomania". Such was the nickname of several cafés in Central Europe at the end of the 1800s. Here they would sit, the demagogues, dreamers and drunkards who would leave their mark on the coming century.
These cafés in turn gave name to a music club in Oslo, Norway, where a select invitation-only door policy, strict dresscode and artists such as Tony Wakeford, Spiritual Front, Solblot and The Green Man created a suitably megalomanic atmosphere. The absinthe fountain helped a bit too...
Which leads us to Café Grössenwahn Grammophon, created as a living monument – or perhaps a folly – to the club we loved. We aim to bring together some of our favourite artists both in music and the pictorial arts.

"Café Grössenwahn" – "Кафе мании величия". Так называли несколько кафе в Центральной Европе в конце 1800-х годов. Здесь обычно сидели демагоги, мечтатели и пьяницы, которые оставили свой след в грядущем столетии.
Эти кафе, в свою очередь, дали название музыкальному клубу в Осло, Норвегия, где правила посещения только по приглашениям, строгий дресс-код и такие артисты, как Tony Wakeford, Spiritual Front, Solblot и The Green Man, создали подходящую атмосферу мании величия. Немного помог и фонтан с абсентом...

Also listed as vinyl on demand or VOD Records.
Since 1-1-2018 temporarily defunct label run by Frank Maier and specialized in late 70s and early 80s industrial, noise, avantgarde, as well as minimal synth, wave, goth releases. Mostly taken from extremely limited tape publications, often with exclusive bonus tracks and unpublished extras.
Apart from selling their records through the usual distributers, VOD also offered yearly subscription memberships. These members often got additonal goodies, such as exclusive 7"s, inserts, boxsets, t-shirts and the like. Besides that so called Friend-editions were released in very limited quantities.
Further status of this label is yet unknown. A mail dated 1-1-2018 of the labelmanager states:

This is going to be my last posting on Vinyl-on-Demand / VOD-Records for the next 12 months.
The past 14 years have been quite some roller coaster-ride with lots of ups and downs on those 153 Catalogue-Numbers with 970 medias released.
All in all I am happy to have had the opportunity to release so many great artists of the DIY-Cassette-Culture-Movement.
2018 I will fully commit my time to work on my new venture, An online-database / archive for cassette-culture and small print press / fanzines of the 20th Century called Tape-Mag and which you can access via www.tape-mag.com to launch on 1st of January as well as two Books (with accompaning Vinyls) to be published in January 2019
So stay tuned. I'll be back with something new but actually not so different. Thanx to all of you that encouraged me on this mission and that will support and encourage me to continue with a slightly new mission Yours Frank Bull, the person formerly known as Frank Maier or simply "Pripuzzi"

A series of non-profit releases featuring experimental music, power-electronics, noise and avantgarde originally initiated by Schrei Records in Germany, but picked up and re-issued by Industria Tepa in Holland. Yecch Tapes from Norway issued the very last entry in the series.

All tapes were then available at cost. Alternatively customers could send in a blank tape and return postage (at least for the first print run from Schrei Records).

The idea was to promote the bands featured and their music.
