EXCLUSIVE: Premiering New Die Weisse Rose Video for “Sparks”
If last year’s two 7″ EP’s from Die Weisse Rose snuck in under your radar, you’re not alone. Both Sparks and Flamme were released by Lisbon, Portugal’s Extremocidente as clear vinyl in an excruciatingly short run of 50 copies each. In all likelihood, by the time you even caught wind that these two releases existed at all, they were already long-gone.
Fear not, however; the four tracks that these two releases are comprised of are slowly making their way online through the ever-growing media monolith that is Youtube. That said, today, we are ecstatic to be able to bring you the new video for “Sparks”. The track was originally intended to be included on the debut full-length on Cold Meat Industry, A Martyrium of White Roses, but was cut because Thomas Bøjden didn’t feel that it fit the overall mood of the album. Now, five years after that initial release, the song is finally seeing the light of day. Enjoy!
We cling to our promises,
as we are sinking like stones
dropping silently
and without a sound
into dark and deep waters
We were driven by dedication
as we would throw ourselves
from ivory towers
and splinter
like crystals upon stone
Cold embers of all our hopes
lie shattered and spread like doubt
for when the sickle of life
cuts us down
and our lives’ thread falls
we shall fall
nameless
like flowers in bloom
We were driven by dedication
as we would throw ourselves
from ivory towers
and splinter
like crystals upon stone
We shall fall
nameless
like flowers in bloom"
